Payroll Updates: Thanksgiving 2019

Are you feeling thankful? The cold weather has started to set in and gratitude is in the air! We hope you’ll join us in our mission to spread the love this Thanksgiving season. But more practically, we’re also writing today to remind you that with the holidays just around the corner, your next payroll may be a bit trickier than usual.

On Thursday, November 28th, the Federal Reserve Bank will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving. Please note that Southland Data Processing will also be closed on November 28th and 29th, and that all transfers will be pushed back for check dates on the holiday. Direct deposits will also not be live for payrolls with check dates of November 28th.

Thanksgiving Payroll Reminders:

  • If your check date is November 28 (Federal Reserve Closed), you will need to move your check date to either Wednesday, November 27 or Friday, November 29.
  • If your check date is Friday, November 29 and you would like to move it to Wednesday, November 27 to accommodate Black Friday shopping, please contact us to make the change and keep in mind that you will need to process payroll by 2:00 PM PDT on Monday, November 25th.

Top Tip: If you would like to activate Wages On Demand for your employees (free for you to offer!) so you don’t have to change your check date for Black Friday, let us know by calling (866) 946-2032 or emailing [email protected]

Use the chart below to find your payroll processing deadline:

Check Date: Process by 2:00 PM PDT on:
Wednesday, Nov. 27 Monday, Nov. 25
Friday, Nov. 29 Tuesday, Nov. 26
Monday, Dec. 2 Wednesday, Nov. 27
Tuesday, Dec. 3 Wednesday, Nov. 27

As always, our team is here to help you with any issues with your payroll or check dates. We’ll always pick up the phone, so don’t hesitate to give us a call at (866) 946-2032 if you have any questions.

Wishing you and yours a restful and enjoyable holiday full of gratitude and love. Happy Thanksgiving from SDP!
