The Work Number helps fulfill these requests by automating payroll information through Southland Data Processing payroll for a higher degree of data accuracy. It is the nation’s largest database of employment information with over *2.9M employer contributors from businesses of all sizes and industries. And, over *65,000 credentialed Verifier organizations trust the service for its automated and direct payroll information.
Employers don’t pay Equifax or Southland Data Processing for this service — typically Verifiers pay a fee for each verification request.
Providing The Work Number is an enhancement service that is included with all Southland Data Processing relationships at no additional cost to our clients. Privacy and Security – The Work Number uses stringent security standards to help protect employee information including data encryption, physical security controls, and user identity verification. Requests are typically initiated by employees, usually at the time of application, and only accepted from credentialed verifiers.
Accessibility – More than 23% of all instant verification completed through The Work Number service were completed after business hours or over the weekend.* Employers are often unavailable during these times, which can slow down application processing. The Work Number can help with this issue.
